The Discipline of Stillness
Stillness is not the absence of motion — it is the mastery of it. A working practice for the noisy mind.

Why stillness is a discipline
Most people meet silence once a year and call it peace. Stillness is different. It is a trained capacity, built the way a body is built — repetition, resistance, rest.
The mind does not quiet because you ask it to. It quiets because you have taught it what to do with itself.
The three-part practice
- Arrive. Ten breaths before anything else. No agenda.
- Observe. Name what is loud without arguing with it.
- Return. Come back to the breath as many times as it takes.
What changes
After a month, decisions become slower and better. After a year, the noise still comes, but it no longer drives.
